Getting to know you icebreaker activities with graphing for Grades 1-3 .This Smart Notebook file was created to use with your Smartboard. This 12 page file is a great lesson to use on the first day of school. This lesson will help you get to know your students and help your students feel at ease while collecting data and graphing. This document was created using word 2010. There is a drop down menu for each of the following Core Content Standards: Reading Literature, Reading Informational Text, Reading Foundational Skills, Writing, Language, Speaking & Listening, and Mathematics.
The document is easy to edit. I have created textboxes that are user friendly and can be dragged, dropped, copied, and pasted as needed to fit your schedule. The drop down menus can also be copies into your current word lesson plans using side by side edit mode. You can copy and paste more than one standard into a content area if you are addressing more than one standard
Due to the Compatibility changes between Word versions the 2007 version will work with the drop down menu. The 1997-2003 will not work with the drop down menus.
What’s My Rule: is a smartboard activity created in Smart Notebook. This multi-level interactive activity/lesson was developed to increase proficiency with working with function tables using addition and subtraction for grades 2-3 This lesson can be used as an initial lesson or reinforcement of skills taught. There are seven function tables with drag and drop animation. The lesson includes: student activity sheet, directions, answer key, objectives, and Core Content Standards implemented in this lesson.
Place Value Practice is an interactive smartboard lesson and can be used as whole group instruction or center instruction for grades 3-5. The multi-level practice is intended to measure students understanding of place value numbers and concepts. The students will be able to practice and reinforce place value understanding of numbers and operations in base ten ranging from millionths to hundred billions. The students will compare larger numbers using >,<,and =. Write numbers in standard form, expanded form, and written form. There are directions, objectives, and the Core Content Standards implemented are listed for reference.

RL 3.7, Aspects of Text Illustrations is a complete, rigorous bundled Lesson to help you teach the Common Core Reading Literature Standard 3.7 in third grade. This Smart Notebook file includes 15 slides. Short Vowels & Word Families
This Smartboard Activity/Lesson enables K-2 students to identify, read, and write short vowel words through word family word wheels. This file includes: objectives, core content standards implemented, and five interactive templates with 20 word families using short vowels. Students will be able to create one syllables words by adding an initial consonants to word families /a, e, I, o, u,/. Your students touch and drag word families and consonants to form new words and then write their new words. Your students will enjoy the circus theme.

Types of Sentences
This lesson was created and developed to assist first, second and third grade students to identify four types of sentences.
Objective: The students will be able to identify the four different types of sentences: statement, command, question and exclamation. The student will practice by adding the correct punctuation mark to the end of the sentence and be able to check their answers with the magic magnifying glass. Next, the students will practice writing the four types of sentences. Finally as an optional reinforcement the student may link to a game to practice the four different types of sentences. The Alphabet - Numerical dice game will help students develop phonemic awareness and word recognition by creating three,four, five and six letter words while using their math skills as well. Place any combination of dice (vowels, consonants , blends, or consonant digraphs ) onto the specific leveled game board. Write the letter and it's numerical value in the boxes. Add the addends to create the sum. Ask students to fill in their game sheet/ student worksheet and create as many words as the can. The student with the highest points WINS ! You can vary the game play to your students needs and instructional level .I have listed the core content standards and included extra dice.
